Taters! Boil 'em, mash 'em, stick 'em in a stew...

On the 31st of last month, we went and weeded our potato field. Yes- TNT has its own potato field! How joyous! We planted about 30 potato halves per row, and there are about 6 rows so... yep, approximately 180 potato plants! Just think of the harvest!
Keeping up the tradition that started last year, the wonderful people of... a city somewhere in Yamanashi donated a small field to plant what ever we wanted to in it. We decided on potatos not only because we like them, they're tasty and all that junk, but because- well, to put it simply we don't have that much time, money or patience to drive 2 hours or so to another prefecture just to trim/hoe/fertelize/whatever to our crop.
*Deeeep gasp of breath*
Anyhow, the weeding was probably one of the most exhausting activities I've EVER participated in.
Besides, of course, walks with my sister Amber.
With the sun shining at a spanking 35 degrees centigrade right above our heads for 3 hours, we sweated and toiled and pulled weeds and hoed inbetween the impossibly thin rows of potato plants. Dad later calculated that altogether we drank 18 liters of water and Aquarius that day.
The sweet man that sponsered everything, named Hosaki, brought us icecream (sucha sweetie; you can guarentee he got two hugs from each of us) and we just stood under the shade of our van and looked at the progress we'd made.
I must say, it was.... beyond words.
So, now we have but a month to wait for harvest. We have mighty plans of making it a united home activity and dragging everyone along. (Just kidding- they're all begging on their hands and knees to be a participant) I can just imagine Travis digging a potato up and EATING it...

Anyhow Mr. Hosaki said it this year's harvest will be ten times better than last year.
That means that Noda, the HCS and Stephan san at the Market will be eating potatos for quite a while.
