It means no worries, for the rest of our days.
Well, hardly any worries anyways.
It was a sound we'd been waiting for since yesterday morning.
Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep.
Ooo-rai! Ooo-rai!
We all rushed to the window, drowsiness of morning devotions and JJT jobs left behind us.
As we waited, we saw my dad backing up and waving his arms in syncronized motion... and following him was like something out of a dream.
Of course, it wasn't quite that dramatic, but the sight of a red 4-ton truck backing down our 8-foot-wide road was rather awe-inspiring.
Q: Where was the truck from?
A: *Leans back of hand on cheek* A sweet man from Mastu donated it for our move.
Q: What day is it?
A: The 9th of November.
Q: What's it for?
A: The 9th of November.
Q: No, no... what's it for??
A: Oh! *titters* He offered to move all our gomi out for us, saving us alot of money.
...TNT joke. Don't try to understand. :D
All that to say, we packed the truck tightly and piled it up about 4 feet high on top, and we still have gomi left over. But this man was our angel- he truly saved us, by carrying away 2/3 of all the souvenirs gathered over the past 10 years. All for free.
Along with all the stuff we sent away was about 80+ boxes of canned beef. Of course, about 10 years outdated. We're not wasting- we tried to eat the stuff. But I still remember the day we got it all. Yesterday we all got in a line and passed the boxes from one person to another, from the mono-oki to the front porch. We've got the whole line thing down to a science- so much so that now we've adopted the name "Chain Gang".
It's happening. This was like the kick-off we needed to really get this move rolling.
Now we will rest for a half-hour, then get back to work. Probably demolishing our mono-okis or something.
Updates later.
Cheers!
